UX Project Leader

Position description

The Online Sales department is leading the development and operation of the Lufthansa Group’s online platforms. Our websites swiss.com, lufthansa.com and austrian.com are amongst the top ecommerce platforms in Europe and offer a variety of different products and services. In addition, our mobile apps accompany our passengers on their entire journey from inspiration to the final destination.

As UX Project Leader, you are part of the UX & Analytics Team at SWISS within the Online Sales department. You will be responsible for identifying and managing UX projects in a team of colleagues in Zurich, Frankfurt and Vienna. The experiences you will craft require tireless focus on solving customer problems and offering the best possible experience on our digital platforms. You will back concepts with test results and data and act as an UX expert within the Lufthansa Group Online Sales organization. You will collaborate with colleagues and different internal stakeholders across locations. 

Your home base will be the UX & Analytics team in Zurich, which is the advocate of our customer and ensures a digital consistency on design, content, usability and in depth web-analytics and business insights detecting customer needs and optimization potential. 

As an UX Project Leader in our team you are an important part of the team for all UX related topics as well as for bringing the digital channels of the Lufthansa Group swiss.com, lufthansa.com and austrian.com to the next level.

 

General

  • Help to craft digital products which go beyond meeting basic expectations to create unique, pure and emotional experiences
  • Balance user needs, technical constraints and business objectives to solve problems effectively
  • Develop concepts, business cases and solutions in consideration of user experience principals
  • Collaborate closely with team members to craft a world-class user experience across all of our platforms
  • Measure and analyze user experience research and testing to validate designs, get user feedback and identify opportunities to improve the customer experience
  • Gather information on user needs and goals (from user research or on their own) and convert into meaningful action points
  • Advise internal stakeholders on questions of a consistent user experience

 
Project management for UX Projects

  • Develop, maintain and update standard project management processes, activities and reporting
  • Meet with project owners, application developers, business analysts, agency and stakeholders to determine business needs and functionalities desired for new or revised application
  • Gathering of requirements and detailed specification
  • Facilitate discussions and consensus among project stakeholders
  • Develop, manage and report on the status of project plans, including risks, budgets, schedules, and resources
  • Provide leadership throughout the requirements definition, design, implementation, and UAT phases of projects through SDLC or Agile methodologies
  • Proactively manage and mitigate risks, and systematically resolve or escalate issues in a timely manner
• Well-founded experience in digital project management skills
• Good knowledge of UX-methodology and appropriate professional experience
• Ability to assess the possibilities of technology as well as a graphic / design affinity
• Solid understanding of current web technologies (CSS, JavaScript, Jason, Web and mobile apps)
• Good organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking and prioritize skills
• Experience in working across organizational boundaries to define, manage and prioritize work
• Distinctive organization and communication abilities
• Fluent in German and English, oral and written
• Strong interest in digital, travel and airlines
• Flexible, self-dependent, and independent way of working
